Arsenal announced, in an official statement, on its website, the termination of his contract with the Brazilian star Willian by mutual consent.

"We have reached a mutual agreement with Willian to terminate his contract as of today," the club said in a statement.

He added: “The Brazilian international joined us from Chelsea last August and played 38 games during the 2020/21 season.”

He continued: “He has two years left on his contract, but after positive and constructive discussions recently with him and his team, he will leave for a new opportunity to play for Corinthians in Brazil.”

And he concluded: “Everyone at Arsenal wishes Willian and his family all the best for the future. The termination of the contract is subject to the completion of organizational processes.
